Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) brings together Alberta's integrated policing units to strategically tackle serious and organized crime.
ALERT consistently demonstrates that an integrated approach to law enforcement is an effective way to fight crime and makes the best use of law enforcement resources to fight an increasingly sophisticated criminal network.
ALERT’s website details the variety of teams working under this comprehensive strategy and contains valuable information about how to keep you and your family safe.
Since its establishment in 2006, ALERT has:
- arrested over 8,800 individuals on 28,000 charges related to drugs, weapons and violent crime
- seized over $585 million worth of street value drugs
- seized over 1,000 firearms
ALERT sets strategic direction and coordinates the activities of police investigators and support staff who work in intelligence, enforcement, and specialized investigative teams throughout Alberta. Team members come from nine partner agencies (RCMP and municipal police services and Sheriffs) and focus primarily on organized crime that affects multiple jurisdictions.
