Commercial Vehicle Enforcement

Mission

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement is responsible for enhancing public safety on our roadways by ensuring commercial vehicles meet Alberta's high safety standards. Enforcement officers ensure commercial vehicles comply with provincial and federal statutes. They also develop and apply enforcement standards and policies for motor carriers.

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement monitors:

  • Commercial vehicle weights using static, certified, and portable scales, and
  • Commercial vehicle mechanical fitness by conducting on-road inspections.
