  • two-year post-secondary diploma
  • high school diploma with recent related law enforcement experience
  • journeyman certification


  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or eligible to work in Canada
  • valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence
  • current driver’s abstract
  • current standard first aid (Level C) and CPR certification
  • current and clear criminal records check
  • proof of successful completion of the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) test – in 4 minutes 45 seconds or less in the last 3 months
  • eligible for appointment as a peace officer under the Peace Officer Act
