Built in 1986, the Medicine Hat Remand Centre is a multi purpose 103-bed correctional facility that accommodates male and female sentenced and remanded adults. Each month about 60 to 80 intoxicated persons are temporarily detained under the Gaming and Liquor Act.
Programs:
- Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gideon Bible study, Medicine Hat Support Group, and Road to Recovery Support group.
- Recreational facilities include four outdoor exercise yards, one indoor yard, two multi-station weight rooms, and an inmate library.
